What is FASTag?

FASTag is an electronic toll collection system in India that employs Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to enable cashless toll payments. Attached to a vehicle’s windshield, it automatically deducts toll charges from a prepaid or linked account as the vehicle passes through toll plazas. FastagThis contactless and time-efficient method aims to reduce traffic congestion and enhance the overall toll collection process on national highways. FASTag promotes digital transactions, streamlining travel for commuters and contributing to a more efficient transportation system.

The FASTag KYC deadline is today. If you haven’t completed KYC by today, i.e., January 31, 2024, starting from tomorrow, i.e., February 1, you will have to pay double toll charges. So, let us guide you through the process of updating FASTag KYC from the convenience of your home.

How to check Fastag status?

Visit the fastag.ihmcl.com. On the home page, click on the login button. Log in with the registered mobile number where you will receive an OTP. Click on the ‘My Profile’ section on the homepage. Click on the ‘KYC status’. The current KYC status will be displayed.

Update KYC Online:

  1. Visit the official website fastag.ihmcl.com.
  2. Log in to your account using your mobile number and password or OTP.
  3. Select the “MY PROFILE” option from the left side menu on the dashboard.
  4. Fill in the necessary information under the ‘Customer Type’ section in the KYC sub-section.
  5. Tick the disclaimer before proceeding with KYC verification.

Driving License:

A Driving License is an official document issued by a government authority, permitting individuals to operate motor vehicles. It verifies that the holder has passed the required tests and possesses the skills necessary for safe driving.

Voter ID:

Voter ID, or Elector’s Photo Identity Card (EPIC), is a government-issued identification card that serves as proof of identity and eligibility to vote. It includes a unique serial number and a photograph.

PAN Card:

A Permanent Account Number (PAN) Card is a unique 10-digit alphanumeric identifier issued by the Income Tax Department. It is essential for financial transactions, tax-related activities, and serves as a primary identification document.

Aadhar Card:

Aadhar Card is a 12-digit unique identification number linked to an individual’s biometric and demographic data. Issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), it serves as a comprehensive proof of identity and residence.

Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC):

The Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC) is an official document issued by the regional transport office. It provides proof of vehicle ownership and contains details such as the vehicle’s registration number, chassis number, engine number, and owner’s particulars.

Offline KYC Update:

If you prefer offline KYC, visit the bank that issued your FASTag. Fill out the KYC form with all the required details and submit it. After this, your FASTag account will be KYC verified.
